Charlene is a Yoga Alliance RYT200, having completed the 200-hour teacher training program at the Triad Yoga Institute in March, 2011. She became a YogaFit instructor in 2006 and has an extensive background teaching group fitness classes since 1993. Charlene has also been certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise since 1995. Her teachers include Terry Brown, Baxter Bell, Elise Browning Miller, and Beth Shaw. She has also studied with Petra Kolber, Leigh Crews, and Deborah Ellison, who brought yoga to the attention of fitness educators in the mid-1990s with the development of Reeboks Flexible Strength program.
Charlene believes that her specialty training in senior/boomer fitness helps her to make yoga fit the individual, rather than the other way round.
Outside of the studio, her interests include gardening, music and the arts. She also enjoys cooking the good veggies and herbs from her garden
