Shelli has benefited from yoga practice many years for work/life balance, and as a compliment to cycling and running, but it was through research in her field of social work she became aware of the benefits of yoga for mental health and decided to pursue yoga teacher training. She will complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Carolina Yoga Company in April 2018. While she already integrates mindfulness into her social work practice, she hopes to expand upon that with asanas once her training is complete. Shelli received certification in Pilates in 2015 at Pilates Certification of North Carolina at Pilates the Form in Cary and has taught Pilates for 2 years. She encourages her students to be present on the mat in mind and body with a playful awareness.
